If you are one of the many people who made a new year’s resolution to get in better shape in 2012, then you may have come across iFit as an option for keeping you motivated with your workouts.  When you hook up your iFit account with your workout machines, TV and Internet, you’ll be able to perform full on workouts using Google Maps and get expert tips from some of the top trainers in the world.

The following is a quick tutorial to get your iFit application connected to your television.  The actual program functions through your computer, but many users like to connect their computers with their TV’s.  This way you can check out your latest fitness statistics and workout goals on your big screen.

Step 1:  Find connection slot on your Television

You’ll first need to find the connection ports on your television for connecting your computer to the TV.  Some TV’s will have a single composite video jack while others will have three circular input ports which means you’ll be connecting your computer to component video jacks.  There are of course several different video jacks on televisions so be sure to check your television manual.

Step 2: Find connection slot on your computer.

The next step is to find the connection port on your computer.  This will likely be an outbound video jack, but there are several connection ports on various computers.  View the manual that came with your computer if you are unsure which port is correct for your specific model.

Step 3:  Attach cables between computer and television and select correct input.

After finding out which cord you’ll need to make the connection between your computer and TV, attach the cable between the two.  Your television will likely need to be adjusted to the correct input setting.  If you are unsure which input to select, then you can refer to the manual to see which input you placed the cable in or simply run through the input options on your screen to find which one it is.

Step 4:  Run iFit on your computer.

Start the iFit application on your computer.  You should now see the iFit application running on your TV.
